Did You Just Put That In Your Mouth?

March 14th, 2007 by Jeff Simmermon

Brenda Hughes of Savannah, GA was accused of throwing acid on her neighbors in an alleged hate crime. She claims she didn’t do it, and even has a special t-shirt that proclaims her innocence. And, even if she did do it, the acid wouldn’t have hurt anyone, she asserts, proving it on the TV news by putting some in her mouth. Have a look:

That lady is how I picture the writers for Best DC Blogs. The only difference is they probably went to college and make ten times more money than this poor soul. Personality-wise though: separated at birth.

Oh my. Some Georgians leave no questions as to why the state is always at the bottom of the education totem pole. She’s fierce! :P

  5. fitley Says:

She seems like a reasonable person why is everybody harassing her? I felt much better about the whole thing when I saw her put rat poison in her mouth. That will teach those damn reporters.

Actually, boric acid isn’t really toxic to humans. I’m not saying this lady rocks, but still… She wasn’t actually hurting anyone. She’s just crazy. People need to chill the heck out.

I second that boric acid is not really all that toxic having a lethal dose of around 2,500 mg/kg which similar to table salt. We also commonly ingest all sorts of other acids everyday as part of a required diet (vitamin c, citric acid, etc) .

    Boric acid: meh

    From Merk index via wikipedia:

the LD50 of boric acid is 5.14 g/kg for oral dosages given to rats, and that 5 to 20 g/kg has produced death in adult humans.

The LD50 of sodium chloride is reported to be 3.75 g/kg in rats.

I doubt its even going to make her ill that amount. May not do her plants any good, but humans are pretty resistant to boron.

    Which explains politicians I suppose.

Well, after all, Georgia was started as a penal colony for the offal of British jails — seems like they haven’t progressed much in the past 350 years.

And that folks is the mentality that caused the south to loose. And a good thing to by the looks of it.

  17. Musicgeek Says:

Kelly, you don’t seem like too much of a brainiac yourself. Here’s the way your sentence should’ve read:

And that, folks, is the mentality that caused the South to lose. And a good thing, too, by the looks of it.

Bad grammar, misspellings and punctuation problems. Exactly what part of the country were you hatched in, Kelly?

  18. Eban Says:

This is a strange. Gee, it is.

  19. AshC Says:

    AH! That’s freaking funny.
But WHY? Did it have to be someone from the south to make us all look bad?

We all need tee shirts with her face and “I didn’t do it” posted on them. ^_^
